House Tour – Kitchen and Bathroom
/My husband and I have almost been in our house for a year now, so I thought I would take this week to give a little tour. One of my favorite parts of running My Midwest Is Showing is going to meet the people I interview and seeing their spaces – I'm pretty nosy. I thought it was only fair that I let all of you look around my space too.
We didn't know it when we bought the house, but the plumbing needed a lot of work before we moved in. In fact, we pretty much had to start over in the bathroom – it was unexpected, but the final product turned out great. We put a lot of work into the kitchen too, but the built-in china cabinet and original tile counters were major selling points for us – they're so charming, I could explode.
Take a look around:
I spent hours scraping out the old grout in the counters last summer so my dad could re-grout them. It was worth it, because they're gleaming and look like new now!
I'm usually all about fun colors, but I love white-on-white in our bathroom – it feels squeaky clean.
My dad did the subway tile in the shower and the floor – I'm not sure how people have a house without a GL around.
Let me know if you have any questions about my kitchen, bathroom, or any of the pieces in them! I'd love to answer in the comments below.
Don't forget to check out my living room, bedrooms, and basement too! And get my household must-haves.
