House Tour – Bedrooms
My husband and I have almost been in our house for a year now, so I thought I would take this week to give a little tour. One of my favorite parts of running My Midwest Is Showing is going to meet the people I interview and seeing their spaces – I'm pretty nosy. I thought it was only fair that I let all of you look around my space too.
When Steve and I left New York, we were living in a great apartment on the edge of Downtown Brooklyn and Brooklyn Heights, right at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge. We loved it there. One tiny issue? It was literally tiny. It was a studio, and the only area with a door was the bathroom. It was fun, and I have a lot of great memories in that apartment, but Steve and I have never been more grateful for bedrooms. Our house is small, but it still feels palatial to us.
We have two bedrooms. One is our master bedroom, and the other is an extra room we use as an office. Take a look around:
I was really inspired by the hotel rooms at The Parker in Palm Springs when I was decorating our bedroom. The Jonathan Adler pillow was non-negotiable, because how can you live without a needlepoint Linda Evangelista quote?
Meet Professor Peabody.
I found this peacock art at an antique store about 10 years ago, and he's moved around with me ever since I lived in Madison.
I don't know how I convinced Steve to let me paint the second bedroom millennial pink and hang giant Barbie art in it, but here we are.
Here's where I hide all of our junk.
My dresser and closet are in this room, so in addition to our office, it's kind of a large dressing room too.
Let me know if you have any questions about my bedrooms or any of the pieces in them! I'd love to answer in the comments below.
Don't forget to check out my living room, kitchen & bathroom, and basement too! And get my household must-haves.
